Itinerary: Baia Mare - Desesti - Berbesti - Barsana - Bogdan Voda - Sacel - Borsa - Moisei - Viseu de Sus - Sighet - Sapinta - Vadu Izei - Baia Mare.

Tour Description: This is our longest and most comprehensive tour and follows all three important valleys of Maramures and reaches the far east of our district where the Rodnei Mountains region offer a breathtaking alpine landscape. The tour starts by visiting the tourist attractions on the Mara Valley: the wooden church of Desesti (1770), the wooden cross of Berbesti (17th century). We then continue to the place where the Mara and Iza valleys meet: Vadu Izei. We go up alongside the Iza Valley and at Birsana we visit the old wooden church (1720) and the new monastery built close to the village entrance. In Bogdan Voda, the birthplace of Moldavia's voivod state, we will visit the wooden church (1722). We then stop in Borsa, a resort ideal for winter sports and starting point for multiple routes of various difficulty levels in the Pietrosu Rodnei National Park. Also, mineral baths are also a possibility here. Lunch can be served at the Cerbul restaurant or at Perla Maramuresului. From Borsa we continue to Moisei where we can find a renowned group of statues build by Vida Geza. We follow the course of the Viseu river to Viseu de Sus. From here there is still a narrow rail steam train that takes tourists alongside the Vaser Valley. We then cross the Hera hill and we approach Sighet. There we visit the Memorial, a museum built inside the old penitenciary and dedicated to the victims of the communist regime. In Sapinta we visit the world renowned Merry Cemetery and we return to Sighet, then alongside the Mara valley we will pass the Gutii mountains and we will reach Baia Mare.
