Itinerary: Dragos' Valley - Laboratory House - Pietrosu Peak - Meteorological Station - Baile Borsa
Length of trip: 2 days
First day: We leave from the town of Borsa.
We then take a mountain path through the Dragos' Valley to the Laboratory House where we will spend the night. We walk to the glacial lakes of the reservation: the Iezer can, Buhaiescu Mare circle, Caves circle. We encounter a breathtaking flora protected by laws: 'gusa porumbelelui', 'floarea de colt', 'crucea pamintului'. We will also run into wild animals like the buck, the chamois, the alpine marmot and the mountain cat.
Second day:
We go up to the Pietrosu Peak (2303 m).
The peak dominates the thesaurus of alpine splendor that belongs to the Rodnei Mountains, offering during open sky days a panorama of Maramures County and the volcanic mountain chain Oas - Gutii - Tibles to the north-west. The path drops to Zanoaga Iezerului, near the Iezer Lake, to the Meteorological Station. From here, we continue our descent alongside the Pietrosu water souce. We arrive to the town of Borsa through a relatively young forest.
