Ruptu Sterpelor : Every spring, during the second decade of May, before heading up in the mountains, the sheep are gathered at the stable, at the village border and, in a very spectacular ritual, they are milked in order to determine the quantity of cheese each owner should get by the end of the pastoral season.
Tinjaua de pe Mara : Every spring, on the first or second Sunday of May, the villagers from Hoteni are celebrating the first man who started working the field that season. During a dynamic, colorful, and meaningful fertility ritual, the villagers declare this man to be the hardest working and the most honorable man in the whole village.
Viflaimul : In Maramures, on Christmas Day, groups of young people wearing costumes preserved for generations, perform in front of the community (in the church or in the streets) a play inspired from the Bible that tells the the story of Redeemer's Birth story. Joseph, Mary, Irod, Death and the Devils are only some of the usual colourful roles that will be performed.
